What a safety plan is
A safety plan is a practical, personal set of decisions made ahead of time, so that you are not deciding them in a crisis. It might cover where you would go, who you would tell, what you would take, and how you would get there.
When someone contacts the foundation, we refer them to a local agency that can assess their needs and provide services. While that appointment is being arranged, we help build an interim safety plan so that no one is left waiting with nothing.
Reach the foundationBrowsing safely
If someone else can see your device, be aware that browsers keep a record of the pages you visit, and clearing that record can itself look suspicious to someone who checks it.
If you are worried about being monitored, the safest option is a device the other person cannot access: a phone belonging to a trusted friend, or a computer at a public library.
Private or incognito browsing hides history from the browser, but it does not hide anything from monitoring software installed on the device, and it does not hide activity from an internet provider or a shared phone plan.
