Students active in community service who have been accepted into an accredited college, university, trade school, or vocational program. A trade is as worth backing as a degree.

Workshops and presentations
Conversations that do not shy away
Our workshops, presentations, and interactive exercises dispel the myths and taboos around domestic violence. They engage the room, generate real conversation, and invite people to join the advocacy rather than simply hear about it.
The foundation also brings education and awareness to fundraising events, pop-up shops, and business expos. Wherever there is a table, there is information on it.

Scholarships
Eleven students, and $44,000

The foundation awards annual scholarships to students who are active in community service and have been accepted into an accredited college, university, trade school, or vocational program.
How it renews
Awards renew annually for up to four or five years, provided the recipient remains in good academic standing.
The total so far
Eleven recipients, and forty four thousand dollars awarded to some very talented and deserving students.

Workforce readiness and financial literacy
Training built specifically for domestic violence survivors. Leaving is rarely a single decision. It is a series of practical problems, and money and employment are near the top of the list.
Participants who complete the workshop receive a voucher for clothing and accessories from the boutique, so that walking into an interview is one less thing to solve.

Every October
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and it is the busiest month in this foundation's calendar. It is when schools, workplaces, and congregations are most willing to have the conversation, so it is when we do the most speaking.
If you would like the foundation at your October event, ask early. The month fills up.

Referral and support
We do not do this alone
The foundation is responsive to anyone who contacts us in need of services. We refer people to local organizations who can assess their needs and provide what is required, and we help develop an interim safety plan while they wait for that appointment.
We also provide support to community organizations that offer counseling and outreach to those affected by domestic violence, and to organizations that mentor young adults.
